RATING: An easy drive but stay away from the edge of the weir.
Yoadwath Bank is a road leading down to a delightful and very pretty 'old fashioned' ford that takes the driver off the tarmac and past the edge of a weir on the River Dove. Across the ford the unsurfaced road is a short gravelled climb that brings you back to the road leading to picture postcard Hutton-le-Hole and the North York Moors.
This is a lane that always makes me smile, not just because of its beauty and location but because of the sign towards the top of the lane that warns caravanners who may have turned off the main road early that this is NOT the road for the caravan site. I often wonder how many brave souls have had to tow a caravan across the ford on the back of the family saloon before someone thoughtfully erected the warning sign.
